MLA Sajjad Shaheen reviews essential services’ status in Banihal

Banihal, Jan 3: MLA Banihal, Sajjad Shaheen, today chaired a meeting to review the status of essential services in the Banihal constituency.

According to a press note, convened at the IRCON Office by the Sub Divisional Magistrate Banihal, the meeting was attended by officers and field staff from key departments, including PDD, PWD, PMGSY, JPDCL, Jal Shakti, Health, Agriculture, Horticulture, Veterinary Services, and Fire and Emergency Services.

While reviewing road connectivity, water and power supply, healthcare, and emergency services, Sajjad Shaheen commended the Sub-Divisional Administration and its field teams for their swift response in restoring utility services, particularly in remote areas, during the recent snowfall. He acknowledged their dedication and hard work under challenging conditions and urged them to maintain the momentum in the coming days.

“The efforts of the administration and field staff in restoring essential services during the recent snowfall deserve appreciation. I urge you all to remain alert and proactive, as the weather forecast predicts more snowfall in the coming days,” Shaheen said.

The MLA also directed the departments to prioritise public grievances, ensure uninterrupted services, and enhance coordination to tackle any weather-induced disruptions. Specific focus was laid on road clearance, addressing power outages, and ensuring healthcare availability in remote and snowbound areas.

Shaheen instructed the administration for timely follow-ups and preparedness to handle adverse weather conditions. He reaffirmed his commitment to improving public services and addressing the challenges faced by the residents of Banihal constituency.
