MLA Khanyar chairs high-level meeting to review functioning of power projects in J&K

Srinagar, June 24: National Conference (NC) General Secretary and MLA Khanyar, Ali Mohammad Sagar today presided a high-level meeting with senior officials comprising of Principal Secretary JKPDD, MD JKSPDC, DG Accounts & Treasury, Accounts General and others at the Assembly Complex, Srinagar to review functioning of power projects in Jammu and Kashmir.

The meeting focused on an in-depth review of the functioning of various power projects across the region and addressed lapses in their timely implementation.

He emphasized the critical role of efficient power project execution in meeting the energy demands of Jammu & Kashmir. He directed officials to identify bottlenecks, streamline processes, and ensure strict adherence to project timelines to enhance the state’s power infrastructure.

The discussions underscored the Committee’s commitment to improving operational efficiency, transparency, and accountability in the power sector.

The meeting was attended by members of the Committee on Public Undertakings, including MLAs Ali Mohammad Dar, Baldev Raj Sharma, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Showkat Hussain Ganai, Mir Saifullah, Said U Din Bhat, Tanvir Sadiq and Mian Meher Ali (Special invitee).
