MLA Kangan pays surprise visit to MMC Watlar

Kangan, Oct 19: Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Kangan Mian Mehar Ali on Saturday paid a surprise visit to the mini maternity centre (MMC) Watlar here.

During his visit the MLA expressed concern over the alleged unsatisfactory conditions including absenteeism and unhygienic conditions at the hospital. Sources said that Meher Ali conducted surprise visit of Mini Maternity Centre Watlar at around 10:15 am on Saturday and to the utmost dissatisfaction of the MLA, many employees were found absent from their legitimate duties.

It was also found that number of employees who are drawing their salary from this healthcare facility are actually deployed to some other institutions which has rendered the centre almost defunct in its expected working. MLA Kangan also reviewed the functioning of the X ray and USG machinery. He came to the know that x ray machine has been brought many years back but it has not been installed yet. USG is being done only once in 15 days. Again to the utmost dismay of the MLA concerned, the Centre lacks in total hygiene and sanitation and bird excreta was found every here and there. MLA Kangan later met many local residents there and assured them that the matter will be taken up with the higher authorities and issues mentioned herein will be resolved soon.
