MLA Kangan flags hospital, school gaps in Assembly
Srinagar, Feb 11: MLA Kangan Mian Mehar Ali on Wednesday raised concerns in the Legislative Assembly over delays in operationalising the maternity hospital in Kangan, shortage of doctors and ambulances in health centres, and pending issues related to education and social welfare, seeking urgent government intervention.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Mian Mehar Ali sought urgent action on the Gund degree college and said that the people of the Gund area had also given a representation and recently the land has been identified and report sent to the Director colleges for further process .
Mian Mehar said that the Maternity child care hospital in Kangan which has been completed is facing delay for it’s inauguration and functioning. He said that there is shortage of staff including Doctors in Trauma hospital Kangan and sought posting of two doctors for night shift in trauma hospital Kangan and Primary health centre Hariganiwan. Mian Mehar also raised the issue of non-availability of ambulances for Wangath, Wussan, Hariganiwan and Sonamarg health facilities.
About the social welfare , the MLA Kangan said that Kangan is without any Child Development Project Officer ( CDPO) for past one year . He also said that there is need for more Anganwardi centres in Kangan. Mian Mehar sought funding for schools in his constituency including government school Akhal and Wussan.
He also raised the demand for upgradation of health centres to NTPHC level.
