MLA Gurez urges CM to constitute committee to ascertain present family conditions of former Legislators
Srinagar, Oct 23:The Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Gurez Nazir Ahmad Khan on Thursday urged the Jammu and Kashmir chief minister to constitute a committee to check the present condition of the families of the former Legislators.
Speaking during the obituary reference of the Assembly session which commenced today, MLA Gurez said that all the legislators don't run their buisnesses and do not have big bungalows.
"When we often ask our former legislators about their families, we see their kids without jobs and financial conditions are also not good," he said.
He urged the Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar that a committee must be constituted to ascertain the conditions of the families of former legislators.
"MLAs are often accused of making money but that is not the reality. Legislators give their blood and sweat in public service. We all don't run businesses," he said.
Meanwhile while praying tributes to former JK Governor Satya Pal Malik, Gurezi said history will remember Satya Pal Malik "for going unconstitutional in som ways."
"When we speak during obituary references, we are told to speak positive about the deceased. But we must speak about facts and this will set a trend for everyone to do good whenever they are in power in any position," Gurezi said.
