MLA Farooq Shah assures developmental progress in Gulmarg villages

Srinagar, Dec 16: National Conference (NC) MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah today assured the people the developmental progress in Gulmarg villages.

According to a press release, he gave the assurance during his visit to village Baderkote of Chandil Block. The MLA inspected several long-neglected facilities and announcing new projects aimed at uplifting the region.

He inspected the Shopping Complex, Computer Lab, and Community Hall in Baderkote, which have remained non-operational since their construction. Assuring the residents of immediate action, Shah committed to making these facilities functional soon, following necessary renovation and upgradation work. Emphasising the importance of education, he also announced the establishment of a Kindergarten School in Baderkote. This initiative aims to provide modern educational infrastructure for the children and pave the way for their bright future.

Shah visited the proposed site for a water reservoir in Wailoo Block. This vital project, estimated to cost Rs six crores will significantly benefit the area by preventing drought-like situations and ensuring irrigation for vast tracts of agricultural land. The project is expected to transform the livelihoods of local farmers. SDM Gulmarg, Tehsildar Kunzer, and Engineers from the Irrigation Department accompanied the MLA during this visit to review the plans and expedite the work.
