Doda, Aug 8: In a bid to accelerate youth entrepreneurship in the district, Deputy Commissioner Doda Harvinder Singh chaired a meeting of the District Level Implementation Committee (DLIC) under Mission YUVA at the DC Office Complex, Doda.

The committee approved 246 new self-employment proposals during the session, pushing the total number of sanctioned cases under the initiative to 644. This milestone marks significant progress in the district’s efforts to empower its youth through sustainable and self-driven livelihood models.

Addressing the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner stressed that Mission YUVA is more than just an employment scheme—it is a transformative initiative aimed at fostering innovation, entrepreneurship, and self-reliance among young people. He assured ongoing capacity building, mentorship, and rigorous monitoring to ensure long-term success of the funded ventures.

Deputy Director Employment, Rafiq Ahmad Jaral, highlighted the enthusiastic response from local youth. “In a district historically reliant on agriculture and service sector jobs, Mission YUVA is opening new and promising avenues for entrepreneurship,” he said.

Jaral also acknowledged the contributions of the SBDU members who are assisting the Employment Department in preparing viable DPRs and facilitating timely financial clearances. The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks to all members.
