Missing Kupwara man found dead in Srinagar shop; police initiate probe

Srinagar, Sep 29: A man from Kupwara who had been missing since September 21 has been found dead in Srinagar, officials said on Monday.

An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner --- KNC that, A team from Police Station Kokernag reached Police Station Kothibagh along with a person resident of Verinag, Anantnag.

Subsequently, a Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) team was taken to Wanposh E-Rickshaw Exchange Shop located on Exchange Link Road in Srinagar, where a dead body was recovered from the premises, official said.

The deceased has been identified as Mushtaq Ahmad Pathan, son of Akbar Pathan, resident of Hyhama Glassdaji Manigah, Kupwara, who had been missing since September 21, 2025, they said.

Police have taken cognisance of the case and further investigation is underway.
