Srinagar, July 6: Mirwaiz Mohammad Umar Farooq has once again urged masjid management committees to adopt modern precautionary measures to protect these religious places from devastating incidents like fires.

According to a press release, during a visit to the affected area of Firdous Colony in Eidgah, Srinagar, where a local masjid and several residential houses were completely destroyed in a recent fire incident, Mirwaiz expressed his full solidarity and sympathy with the victims and the mosque management committee. He said this is the second consecutive tragic incident, following the Bohri Kadal incident, where the historic Bazar Masjid and local residential houses suffered severe damage.
