Mirwaiz Umar lays foundation stone of Bazar Masjid
Srinagar, Oct 13: The foundation stone-laying ceremony for the historic Bazar Masjid, led by Mirwaiz-e-Kashmir Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, was organised by Bazm-e-Tawheed Ahlihadees today at Bohri Kadal, with enthusiastic participation from the local community.
According to KNS, the event was attended by several prominent Ulemas, including Bazm-e-Tawheed acting president Dr. Tariq Ahmad Bhat, Jamiat Ahle Hadees president Dr. Abdul Lateef Kindi, Maulana Maqbool Akhrani, Mufti Yaqoob Baba, Maulana Ab Qayoom Zadoo, Dr. Ab Majeed Dar, Mufti Ghulam Rasool Samoon, Maulana Lateef Ahmed, and others, symbolizing unity and collective religious effort.
In his address, Mirwaiz appreciated the role of the people and organisers in initiating the Masjid’s reconstruction and urged the business community to contribute generously to the cause. He emphasized the importance of preserving places of worship and fostering cooperation and sectarian unity within society.
The event witnessed a special moment when Maulana Mubarak Mubarki, chairman of Bazm-e-Tawheed, made a brief appearance despite his ill health. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq warmly welcomed him, acknowledging his contributions and dedication to the welfare of the community. It is pertinent to mention that the Bazar Masjid was gutted in a devastating fire that engulfed the entire neighborhood on June 24.
