Mirwaiz offers Friday prayers at Jamia Masjid after four weeks

Srinagar, Oct 04: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Friday offered congregational prayers at Jamia Masjid in downtown Srinagar after four weeks of ‘undeclared’ house detention, said a statement issued by his office.

“In his address at Jamia masjid, Mirwaiz said that he was allowed to come to Jama Masjid after more than a month, after again going to the court where the date of hearing of his case is today,” read the statement.

He criticised the authorities for what he said denying his house arrest in public.
