Minor booked for inappropriate social media posts in Kishtwar

Ramban, Jan 23: Kishtwar Police booked a minor boy accused of posting derogatory content on social media platforms on Tuesday.

SSP Kishtwar Khalil Poswal said one individual was detained for posting derogatory comments on a social media platform.

Police sources said an FIR No. 05/2024 under sections 295A,153-A, IPC has been registered at Police Station Chatroo, against a minor (name withheld) for hurting the religious sentiments of a particular community.

He has been detained and further investigation taken up.

SSP Khalil Poswal said that the Cyber Cell of Kishtwar Police is diligently monitoring all social media activities, and strict actions will be taken against those found violating cyber laws.

SSP has consistently emphasised the importance of responsible behaviour and issued stern warnings to netizens.

He reaffirmed the commitment of law enforcement to uphold the digital code of conduct, stating that legal actions will be taken against those found violating the prescribed guidelines.
