Minister made wrong statement on Article 370: Soz

Srinagar, Mar 25: Former Union Minister Prof Saifuddin Soz today said that Foreign Minister Jai Shankar has made a wrong statement that Article 370 had been the hurdle to block laws that would promote development in J&K.

“It is a strange thing that India’s Foreign Minister has summarily stated that the Article 370 had blocked the laws that would promote the development in J&K State, without citing any example on his assertion. It is really unfortunate that S Jaishanker did not even give a single example of why Article 370 blocked the development in J&K State,” Soz said.

He added that Jaishanker holds a very important position in “our system” and yet, he does not consider it necessary to cite just one example where the Article 370 had blocked the development.

“I wish Jaishanker had studied in depth the evolution of Article 370 of the Constitution of India. Both the J&K Govt. and the Central Government had enunciated the Article 370 of the Constitution of India.
