Minister Javed Rana congratulates Young Science Olympiad Champion
Srinagar, Aug 11: Minister for Jal Shakti, Forest, Ecology and Environment, and Tribal Affairs, Javed Ahmed Rana visited the residence of Mahira Hilal, a class 3rd student of G D Goenka Public School, Srinagar, who has brought laurels to Jammu and Kashmir by clinching the zonal topper position with a gold medal in the International Olympiad of Science 2024 at Level-1, and subsequently winning the International Gold Medal at Level-2, along with a cash prize of Rs 10,000.
The Olympiad witnessed participation from students across several countries, making Mahira’s feat even more significant.
Congratulating Mahira and her family, Rana lauded the young prodigy’s exceptional intelligence and dedication towards learning.
“Her achievement at such a young age is a testament to her talent and the encouragement provided by her parents and teachers,” he said.
The minister also interacted with Mahira, enquiring about her interests and aspirations, and urged her to maintain her passion for science and innovation.
“With dedication and perseverance, she can scale even greater heights,” he said.
Her accomplishment has been widely celebrated in the local community, with residents and well-wishers expressing pride in her success and optimism that she will continue to make J&K proud in the years ahead.
