Mine, other material recovered during operation in Rajouri village
Rajouri, Feb 10: Security forces on Saturday afternoon recovered an anti- personnel land mine, two batteries and some other material during an operation at Patrara village of Rajouri.
The operation was launched by army and police in Patrara village falling under Manjakote police station jurisdiction in the district.
Officials said that during this operation, some suspicious material was found lying near a water channel after which the area was cordoned and technical teams were called in.
They added that during examination a NMM14 Anti Personnel land mine was found in the area besides two 12 V non-rechargeable batteries and two oil filters.
The officials said that the material was taken into possession by forces. The land mine was destroyed through a controlled explosion.
Searches in the area were going on when the reports last came in, they added.
