Migrant Vendor's Killing | SIA conducts searches at 11 locations in 3 south Kashmir districts

Srinagar, May 14:  The State Investigation Agency (SIA) conducted searches at 11 locations in south Kashmir’s three districts – Anantnag, Kulgam and Shopian – on Tuesday morning.

These searches were conducted by the SIA in connection with the ongoing investigation of case FIR No 87/2024 of Police Station Bijbehara, about the killing of a non-local street vendor Raja Shah on April 17, 2024, at Jablipota, Bijbehara to ascertain larger criminal conspiracy behind the killing.

During searches, various articles including mobile phones, electronic gadgets and documents relevant to the ongoing investigation have been seized in the case which would be forensically examined and analysed during investigation in the case.

On April 17 evening, terrorists shot dead a migrant vendor in the Bijbehara area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district following which a manhunt was launched to track the attackers.

The non-local vendor was identified as Raja Shah, son of Shankar of Bihar.

The incident had taken place when terrorists fired at him from point-blank range, causing severe injuries.

Shah was rushed to the Sub-District Hospital (SDH) in Bijbehara in critical condition after sustaining two gunshot wounds, one in the neck and the other in the abdomen.

Despite immediate medical attention, he could not survive the injuries sustained in the attack.
