Mian Altaf reviews functioning of GMC Rajouri
Rajouri, Dec 7: Member Parliament (MP) Mian Altaf Ahmad today reviewed the functioning of Govt Medical College (GMC) Rajouri during his visit there.
He chaired a meeting with administration of GMC. Later talking to media persons during the MP urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to intervene for further improvement in the working of the college. He also emphasised the importance of upgrading facilities to meet patient care needs.
He said that GMC is the most vital health institute of this Pir Panjal region and its proper functioning as per patient care needs is need of hour. Mian Altaf called for installation of essential equipment including cath lab and MRI with an aim toenhance diagnostic capabilities. He also announced Rs one crore for critical sectors of GMC Rajouri.
Member Parliament said, “We are not here to criticise the things but to explore scope for improvement as issues of limited land and space, infrastructure, extra burden of medical students as compared to hostel facilities.” The MP further said that he will also discuss the situation with Chief Minister for necessary efforts required for further improvement.
