MGNREGA implementation reviewed in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 3: Secretary of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Mohammad Aijaz Asad, conducted a detailed review of MGNREGA implementation across Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on KPIs, Project UNNATI, wage payments, and social audits.

He urged districts to prioritise works creating durable community assets and stressed accountability, noting that ACDs are nodal officers for all schemes. All districts were directed to complete e-KYC for workers by October 31 and finish pending work from previous years.

Strengthened monitoring through the Area Officer App and resolution of social audit backlogs were also emphasised to ensure transparency and effective execution.
