MeT warns of heavy snowfall in Kashmir, Chenab Valley from tonight
Srinagar, Jan 04: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar today warned of light to moderate snowfall at most places of Jammu and Kashmir from tonight.
From January 4-6, there is a forecast of generally cloudy with light to moderate rain (plains in Jammu division), while snow at most places of Jammu and Kashmir, with peak activity during January 4 night to January 5 late night or January 6 morning, leading temporary disruption of surface and air traffic particularly on January 5, the officials said.
“There is a possibility of heavy snow over middle and higher reaches of Kashmir, and Chenab valley during January 4 night to January 5 late night or January 6 morning,” the officials said.
They said the weather will improve from January 6 afternoon.
The weather will remain generally dry and cloudy from January 7-10, the officials said.
They said from January 11-12, there will be generally cloudy with light snow at isolated to scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir.
From January 13-15, the weather will remain dry likely, they added.
The officials advised tourists, travelers and transporters to plan their travel accordingly and follow advisories from administration and traffic department.
