MeT predicts light rain, snow with gusty winds on March 21, 22

Srinagar, Mar 18 : The Meteorological Department (MeT) Monday forecasted generally cloudy weather with the possibility of light rain and snow at many places with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds over the plains of Jammu and Kashmir on March 21 and 22.

A MeT official here said that generally dry weather was expected till March 20.

“From March 21 to 22, generally cloudy weather with the possibility of light rain and snow is expected at many places with thunder, lightning, and gusty winds over plains of Kashmir and Jammu divisions,” he said. “On March 23, generally dry weather is expected while partly to generally cloudy weather with light rain and snow at few places is expected on March 24 to 25.”

Srinagar recorded a minimum of 3.5 degrees Celsius against 2 degrees Celsius the previous night which was below normal by 1.2 degrees Celsius for this time of the year.

Qazigund recorded a minimum of 2.8 degrees Celsius against 2.1 degrees Celsius the previous night and it was 1.3 degrees Celsius below normal.

Pahalgam recorded a low of minus 1.3 degrees Celsius against minus 1.7 degrees Celsius the previous night and it was 1.4 degrees Celsius below normal.

Kokernag recorded a minimum of 3.2 degrees Celsius against 2.9 degrees Celsius the previous night and it was 0.3 degrees Celsius below normal.

Kupwara town recorded a low of 1.3 degrees Celsius against 0.5 degrees Celsius the previous night and it was 1.8 degrees Celsius below normal there.

Gulmarg recorded a low of minus 0.5 degrees Celsius against minus 2 degrees Celsius the previous night and it was above normal by 1.8 degrees Celsius.

Jammu recorded a minimum of 13.2 degrees Celsius and it was below normal by 1.7 degrees Celsius.

Banihal recorded a low of 7.8 degrees Celsius, Batote 9.2 degrees Celsius and Bhaderwah 3.8 degrees Celsius.
