Advises general public to suspend shikara and boat riding during next 2-3 hours

Srinagar, May 24: The Meteorological departmental has predicted light to moderate rain and thundershower in Jammu and Kashmir parts during next 4-6 hours.

It warned that many places of south, north and central Kashmir including parts of Rajouri-Banihal axis, Jammu, Reasi and Udhampur likely to receive intense rain showers with gusty winds measuring 50-60 KMPH speed during next 2-3 hours.

The department advised general public to avoid shikara and boat riding in next 2-3 hours.

The MeT Srinagar in its fresh advisory said, “Generally cloudy with a spell of light to moderate rain/thundershower most likely over most parts of north Kashmir, central & south Kashmir, Poonch & Rajouri, Banihal, Ramban, Reasi, Udhampur, Jammu, Doda & Kishtwar during next 4-6hrs”.

“Many places of South Kashmir, few parts of North & Central Kashmir, parts of Rajouri Banihal-Ramban axis, parts of Jammu, Reasi & Udhampur may receive intense Rain showers with gusty winds (50-60 KMPH) during next 2-3 hours,” the advisory reads.

It said there is a possibility of landslides, mudslides at few vulnerable places, and also advised general public to suspend shikara and boat riding during next 2-3 hours.
