Speaking to Greater Kashmir shortly after his appointment, Wadoo said, “I am feeling very proud to be the president of this association. This is the association of Indian football players; every registered professional footballer in India is a part of it. It was founded to be the collective voice of Indian footballers, and now that I am at the helm, my aim is to ensure that voice becomes louder and clearer.”

Wadoo, who hails from Srinagar, said his focus would also include addressing long-pending football-related issues in J&K.

“Being from J&K, I am well aware of the challenges players face: irregular leagues, lack of structure, and no proper elections. At the end of the day, the players suffer. I want to change that,” he said.
