Jammu, Sep 15: BJP national general secretary and J&K Prabhari Tarun Chugh Monday alleged that AAP and NC together were “trying to run a pro-Pak agenda in J&K and their unholy alliance of anarchists and separatist sympathisers was thoroughly exposed with the arrest of AAP MLA Mehraj Malik’s arrest.”

In a statement issued to the press, Chugh said, “The anti-national face of the Aam Aadmi Party in Jammu and Kashmir has been fully unmasked with the arrest of its lone MLA under the Public Safety Act.”

Chugh said the dossier submitted by the J&K government clearly established that Malik was “engaged in disruptive and unlawful activities that sought to generate anti-national sentiments.”

He added that Malik, backed by the Abdullah-led National Conference, represented the dangerous alignment of forces in J&K that repeatedly compromised India’s security.

“The Abdullahs have always pandered to separatist tendencies and now by extending political support to AAP’s MLA, they have exposed their willingness to join hands with a party that has been caught red-handed aligning with Pakistan-sponsored disruptive elements,” Chugh said.

He pointed out that “AAP’s dubious record was not new - whether in Delhi, Punjab, or in J&K, the party consistently relied on confrontation, unlawful means, and anarchic politics.”

Referring to Operation Sindoor, senior BJP leader said Malik openly threatened government officials and attempted to obstruct security operations.

“Multiple FIRs against Malik prove beyond doubt that he was not acting as a responsible legislator but as a habitual offender with an anti-national streak. This is exactly why the administration had no option but to detain him under PSA,” Chugh said.
