Mehbooba visits slain BJP worker’s family, demands probe
Shopian, May 22: Former Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Wednesday demanded a probe into the recent killing of a BJP worker in Heerpora village of south Kashmir’s Shopian district.
“On one hand they made claims about normalcy, but on the other twin attacks occurred in south Kashmir. It raises doubts and needs to be investigated”, Mehbooba told reporters after visiting the family of the deceased worker.
Mehbooba said that there might be the involvement of such a party that wanted people to boycott the polls.
“Such parties had old connections and were involved in money laundering. They distributed money and arms ”, she said.
Mehbooba said that there should be an investigation to ascertain “whether there is an involvement of any such party seeking to vitiate the atmosphere and reduce the poll percentage. She demanded adequate compensation and government employment for the deceased’s wife in a civil department.
