Mehbooba Mufti offers Eid prayers at Hazratbal, regrets closure of Jamia Masjid

Srinagar, April 10: PDP President and former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Mehbooba Mufti offered Eid prayers at Dargah Hazratbal in Srinagar.

Mehbooba expressed regret that people were not allowed to offer prayers at Jamia Masjid. "It’s a historical mosque and has big importance in Kashmir. People should be allowed to offer prayers at every mosque," she said.

Eid-ul-Fitr marks the culmination of the holy month of Ramadhan and symbolises the spirit of austerity, brotherhood, compassion and the joy of sharing.

She was accompanied by ex-minister Aasiya Naqash, ex-MLA Anjum Fazili and state secretary Arif Laigaroo and others.
