Mega education event held at Handwara

The Deputy Commissioner in his address advised students to focus on education and exploit the avenues of the present day world.

Kupwara, July 20: The district administration Kupwara and Army's 30 RR in collaboration with the Ministry of Education Saturday organised an education festival at Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Handwara with an aim to provide counselling and guidance to the students of north Kashmir about various higher education options available in the leading colleges across India.

Chairman, District Development Council (DDC), Irfan Sultan Panditpori was the chief guest at the occasion while Deputy Commissioner Kupwara Ayushi Sudan was the guest of honour. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Handwara Dawood Ayoub, DDC Member Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad Dar, DDC Member Rajwar Suliman Mir, Commanding Officer (CO) 30 RR, Colonel Ankur Panday, Chief Education Officer (CEO) Kupwara, Abdul Majeed Dar, heads of several consultancies, principals of all higher secondary schools in Handwara, concerned officers and a large number of students and parents participated in the festival.

Addressing the gathering, the Chairman DDC Council Irfan Panditpori expressed his gratitude to the organisers for conducting such a huge student counselling programme in the district. He stressed the need for holding more such festivals so that students of this border district get benefitted. He urged upon the student community to take advantage of this programme and get maximum benefits from it.

The Deputy Commissioner in his address advised students to focus on education and exploit the avenues of the present day world. “Education is the only tool with which one can achieve the highest goals of life” she added. DC thanked Army's 30 RR for organising such a great initiative.

Terming the holding of such an education festival as a step towards success, the Deputy Commissioner said that right information at the right time is prerequisite for achieving any success. She urged the students to take advantage of such avenues and decide their future goals according to their interest and attitude and wished them the highest levels of success in the subjects they choose. She said counselling and guidance at the right time is the most important thing students should take care of.
