Meeting of political parties held

Kishtwar, Aug 17: District Election Officer, Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan today chaired a meeting with representatives from various political parties to underscore the paramount importance of upholding the highest ethical standards as delineated in the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) and other pertinent guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India (ECI) in anticipation of the forthcoming General Elections to Legislative Assembly,J&K-2024.

The primary objective of the gathering was to sensitize political parties on the imperative nature of maintaining integrity, fairness, transparency throughout the electoral process.

Deliberations during the session encompassed crucial issues such as adherence to MCC provisions, acquisition of permissions for media advertisements and campaign vehicles, initiation of candidate bank accounts in accordance with stipulated timelines, and other pertinent aspects vital to ensuring a just and equitable electoral environment.
