Meeting of District Environment Committee held in Kupwara

Kupwara , Nov 9:  On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, the Additional District Development Commissioner (ADDC) Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Khan Thursday chaired a meeting of the District Environment Committee at Mini-Meeting Hall of DC Office Complex, here to discuss the preparation of the District Environment Plan.

The ADDC Kupwara took a detailed review of the proposed District Environment Plan of all the line departments.

Meeting deliberated in detail about the environmental plan including the seven thematic areas having Solid Waste Management Plan, Water Quality Management Plan, Domestic Sewage Management, Industrial Waste Water Management, Air Quality Management, Mining Activity Management and Noise Pollution Management plans.

The ADDC Kupwara directed all the concerned officers to ensure strict compliance of the Government regulations regarding scientific disposal of solid and liquid waste, and discourage the use of polythene in all three Municipalities of Kupwara district.

He asked concerned officers for expediting the processes of the plan preparation on sustainable lines.
