Anantnag, Feb 26: Secretary Health and Medical Education (H&ME), Dr Syed Abid Rasheed Shah today along with Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag S F Hamid and Director Health Services Kashmir Dr Mushtaq Ahmad Rather visited Rehmat Aalam Hospital, MCH and GMC Anantnag during which he took comprehensive round of all the wards of hospitals to assess the medical care facilities available for patients.

The Secretary besides the visit also chaired a meeting with the administration of GMC and Associated Hospitals to review the progress of works on major projects of GMC. During the visit, the Secretary assessed the current state of healthcare infrastructure and services at GMC Anantnag focusing on patient care, infrastructure, medical equipment and overall operational efficiency of the hospital.

Interacting with the doctors and other staff on the occasion, Dr Abid underlined that the goal is to ensure that the medical facilities meet the highest standards and we are able to provide effective healthcare services to the community. He emphasized upon the doctors to commit themselves towards enhancing the quality of medical services in the hospital. He called upon the medical professionals to conduct rounds in the hospital for efficient management of patients, acknowledging their role in providing vital medical services to the people of the region.

During the visit, the Secretary took a detailed tour of the hospital including, patient wards, emergency wards, MRI lab, radiation oncology lab and other related infrastructure and took first hand appraisal of each facility systematically.

Later on, the Secretary held detailed meetings with Principal GMC, CMO, Chief Engineer, PWD, HoD’s of different departments of GMC, Medical Superintendents of GMC and its Associated Hospitals, Executive Engineers of all wings and other concerned officers. Addressing the officers during the meeting, Dr Abid called upon the officers to work with zeal and zest so that the GMC Anantnag emerges as the best performing health institution across Jammu and Kashmir.

He called upon the Administration of GMC and Associated Hospitals to maintain an absolute cohesion and team work among all agencies as well as medical professionals so that the desired and improved medical care facilities are provided to the public at large.

Dr Abid called upon doctors and paramedical staff to work with zeal and teamwork to make GMC Anantnag the best-performing health institution in J&K. He emphasized the need for cohesion among agencies and medical professionals to provide improved medical care facilities. Public welfare was highlighted as the primary goal, with the Secretary emphasizing that the success of any hospital is measured by meeting public expectations punctuality and conscious working hours were stressed for medical professionals, and the Principal GMC was directed to focus on innovative research at the institute. The Secretary encouraged the development of a mechanism for better patient management, aiming for patient relief and welfare in the hospital.

Secretary during his visit expressed satisfaction with the commitment and dedication of the healthcare professionals at GMC Anantnag and acknowledged their role in providing vital medical services to the people of the region.
