Medical camp organised at Ajas

Students of 2nd year MBBS were actively involved in mobilising their adopted family members towards the camp.

Srinagar, July 23: Medical health camp under family adoption programme was organised by Department of Community Medicine, SKIMS MC&H, Bemina at Ajas in Bandipora today.

Consultants from the department of general medicine, paediatrics, gynecology and endocrinology provided valuable consultation to the beneficiaries. Initial screening in the form of blood pressure measurement, BMI, waist-hip ratio, wasting and stunting in children, in addition to haemoglobin and random blood sugar was  also done. Around 250 beneficiaries benefitted from the camp. Faculty of the Department of Community medicine counselled the villagers regarding safe drinking water ,food hygiene and basic sanitation.

In addition essential drugs were also distributed among beneficiaries in need. Senior residents from the Department of Community Medicine and other departments, postgraduate students, medical interns actively participated in the camp.

Support to carry out camp activities was provided by District Administration Bandipora, CMO Bandipora and BMO Hajin. Medical officer Ayush dispensary Ajas, health staff of PHC Ajas and SHO Ajas made efforts to make the camp activity run smoothly.
