Srinagar, Jun 14: A medical camp was organised in the border area of Gohallan through a collaborative effort between the Health and Medical Education Department with the Indian Army.

A statement of the Army issued here said that a dedicated 13-member medical team, working under the supervision of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Baramulla and the Indian Army provided essential healthcare services covering a wide range of specialties including general medicine, gynaecology, orthopaedics, general surgery, health education, and anaemia screening.

Free medicines were also distributed among the patients during the camp.

Several individuals diagnosed with conditions requiring further intervention were referred to government hospitals for surgical treatment, ensuring continued care beyond the camp.

One of the highlights of the camp was the generation of Ayushman Bharat health cards, enabling eligible residents to access cashless treatment under the national health protection scheme.

The Indian Army played a crucial role in facilitating the outreach of medical services to the remote and sensitive border village of Gohallan, reaffirming its commitment to the welfare of border communities.
