Medical camp, awareness programme on drug menace to be held in Gurez

Srinagar, Sep 11: The GR Beigh Memorial Foundation will be holding a two-day Mega Medical Camp, Awareness Campaign, and Inauguration of Tailoring Centers under “Beigh Fatima Hunar Se Rozgar” on September 13, 14 at Shahpora, Gurez.

The initiative will provide free health check-ups, medicines, and awareness sessions, along with the opening of tailoring centers aimed at empowering women with livelihood skills, said a press release.

For the last three years, the Foundation has been running Nasha Mukht Abhiyaan Bharat awareness programmes across Kashmir. It has also been actively working across Jammu & Kashmir UT, Ladakh UT, and Punjab region, addressing issues of health, livelihood, and drug de-addiction.

Appreciating the role of the police department, Chairman Ishtiyaq Beigh said, “Our police have been doing a marvelous job by taking strict action against drug peddlers, including the attachment of their properties.
