Massive landslide blocks Kishtwar-Paddar link road

Ramban, June 30: Following a major landslide in the Patharneki area, the Kishtwar Padder link road connecting the Paddar area with the district headquarters in Kishtwar was blocked on Sunday.

Official sources said a landslide hit and blocked the Kishtwar Paddar link road near the Patthar Neki area.

Some passer-byes present in the area captured videos of a portion of the hillock sliding on their mobile phones and posted them on social media.

According to sources, it will take many days for the concerned road maintenance agency to restore this vital Kishtwar Paddar link road due to which people of the Paddar area may face problems.

Sources further said the High-tension transmission tower also eroded due to a landslide.

Meanwhile Locals of the area have appealed to the district administration of Kashmir and the concerned road maintenance agency GREF to clear the landslide and restore the road immediately so that people of the Paddar area may not suffer due to the road blockade.

Till late this evening road restoration work was not started on Kishtwar Paddar link road, sources added.
