Massive CASO launched in Mendhar villages

Poonch, Jan 6: Security forces on Saturday carried out a massive cordon and search operation (CASO) at Uchad village and adjoining areas of Mendhar sub division in Poonch district.

The operation was launched after some specific information regarding suspicious movement of gunmen in the areas.

The search operation, officials said, was launched last night in the areas including Uchad which are located at a distance of few kms from Line of Control (Loc). The operation was going on when the reports last came in.

Locals of the area claimed to have heard some gunshots from the operation site which official sources termed as speculative firing by forces.
