Martand Singh felicitates Anekha Thakur
Jammu, Dec 2: Martand Singh, Director, Amar Singh Sports and Youth Initiative, J&K, felicitated Anekha Thakur, a member of the India Women’s Blind Cricket Team, which recently won the Women’s T20 Blind Cricket World Cup, 2025. She was accompanied by family members and Dr Rameshwar Thakur, MLA Bani, at a felicitation ceremony hosted at Amar Mahal, Jammu.
On this occasion, Martand Singh, as per a statement issued on Tuesday, congratulated Anekha Thakur for her achievement and said that this is a moment of great pride and joy that he has had this opportunity to meet and felicitate her. He further said that the Amar Singh Sports and Youth Initiative, J&K, shall extend support to Anekha Thakur for cricket gear and equipment for her future training and competitions.
Martand also highlighted that Anekha Thakur, who hails from Bani, District Kathua, J&K, was the only member from North India on this squad and was also awarded ‘Player of the Match’ in Colombo, Sri Lanka, during the game against Pakistan.
