Kangan, Mar 6: A team of the Market Checking Squad conducted an inspection of the main market in Kangan on Thursday, focusing primarily on ensuring adherence to food safety standards and government-notified rates in view of the approaching holy month of Ramadan.

The joint inspection team, comprising officials from the Food Safety Department, Police, and Revenue Department, concentrated on addressing violations of rate lists and promoting hygiene practices, particularly within the fruits and vegetables market in the area.

Officials reported that fines totalling Rs. 6,000 were imposed on erring business owners under the Food Safety and Standards Act-2006, Rules & Regulations-2011.
