Ramban, Nov 25: Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSSO) Ramban, in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare (DSWO), on Monday organized a remarkable marathon as part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao promotional campaign. The initiative, aimed at promoting gender equality and empowering girls, also carried the crucial message of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan to combat substance abuse.

The marathon was more than just a race; it was a symbolic journey towards a society that values and empowers its daughters while addressing the pressing issue of substance abuse. It provided a platform to spread awareness, unite communities, and inspire participants to embrace healthier and more responsible lifestyles. The event also highlighted the importance of physical fitness as a means to build discipline and resilience among youth.

In the men’s category, Akshay Sharma from Udhampur secured the first position, Ritik Sharma from Kathua earned second place, and Pritam Kumar from Ramban stood third. In the women’s category, Samta Devi from Ramban claimed the first position, Rimpy Devi from Katra achieved second place, and Shruti Devi from Ramban came third.

The campaign celebrated the strength and talent of young individuals while reinforcing the importance of educating and empowering girls. By integrating the message of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the marathon raised awareness about the dangers of substance abuse, encouraging the youth to lead healthier and more purposeful lives.
