Man killed in Gool scuffle
Ramban Nov 3: An altercation over a cow entering a field turned tragic in the Gool area of Ramban district on Monday afternoon, resulting in the death of one person.
According to police sources, information was received at Police Post Ind under Police Station Gool, around 2.15 pm that the cow, belonging to Sajad Hussain, son of Mohd Israel, resident of Dedha Gool, strayed into the field of Mohd Abdullah, son of Ghulam Kumhar, resident of Sokhar Dedha.
Reportedly, Mohd Abdullah began pelting stones at the animal, causing injuries and dislocating one of its horns. This led to a heated scuffle between the two men.
During the confrontation, Sajad Hussain allegedly pushed Mohd Abdullah, causing him to fall. Abdullah sustained grievous head injuries.
On getting information Police personnel reached the spot and shifted the injured man to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Gool, where doctors declared him dead.
Senior officers, including the SDPO and SHO Gool, along with the DFMU, rushed to the spot to investigate.
SSP Ramban Arun Gupta confirmed the incident, stating that a manhunt was launched to apprehend the accused, who fled after the incident.
