Man killed by cousin in Srinagar's Parimpora; accused arrested

Srinagar, Oct 13: A man was stabbed with a sharp-edged weapon by his cousin in Srinagar's Parimpora, reports said Sunday.

Quoting an official, news agency NVI reported that a scuffle erupted between the two cousins at the Parimpora Bus Stand.

"During the altercation, one man sustained critical injuries from the stabbing," he said.

The injured man was quickly shifted to SMHS Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival, the official said. He identified him as Amir Mir, a resident of Parimpora.

Following this, the Srinagar Police said that they have taken cognizance of the incident.

"Police takes cognizance of an incident in which an individual namely Zareef Ahmed Mir S/o Ab Raheem Mir R/o Parimpora stabbed another namely Amir Razak Mir S/o Ab Razak Mir R/o Parimpora during a scuffle over vehicle parking near their shops. The victim was declared dead upon arrival at SMHS Hospital. FIR no. 114/2024 u/s 103 BNS stands registered in PS Parimpora.
The accused has been arrested and the weapon of offence has also been recovered. Further investigation into the case is going on," police said on their official X-handle.
