Man held for producing fake domicile certificates in Handwara

Kupwara, Jan 15: A man who runs a Common Service Centre (CSC) in Magam, Handwara area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district was held on Wednesday for producing fake domicile certificates.

Tehsildar Handwara Zeeshan Khan while divulging details said, "While acting on a specific information that a CSC owner in Magam Handwara was involved in producing fake domicile certificates, Police was intimated following which the accused was held".

He said that a case has been registered against the accused and efforts were on to determine the extent of the forgery. He identified the accused as Wiqar Ahmad Lone son of Abdul Ahad Lone resident of Magam Handwara.

Khan has urged citizens to remain vigilant and thoroughly verify their documents when receiving them from such centers. He emphasised the importance of ensuring the authenticity of critical documents to prevent fraud and misuse.
