Man dies in flash flood-triggered landslide

Poonch, Jul 7: A 58-year-old man from Baarian village of Loran in Poonch lost his life after he came under the debris of a landslide triggered by a flash flood.

The incident happened on Monday evening in the Khoriwala area of Loran in Poonch's Mandi tehsil. The deceased has been identified as Ghulam Mohammad (58), son of Abdul Samda Nagar of Baarian. The man present in the area was hit by debris from a landslide hit by flash flood, and he died on the spot.

The deceased's body was later retrieved from the flash flood site by locals and a Police team, while necessary legal proceedings have been taken up by police in the Loran Police Station area.
