Man booked under PSA in Nagrota
Jammu, Nov 1: Police stated to have apprehended a “habitual offender” in Nagrota area of Jammu district, in an “action against elements disturbing public order” and booked him under the Jammu and Kashmir Public Safety Act (PSA).

“Tightening the noose around habitual offenders as per the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Jammu, Joginder Singh, the action has been taken against the chronic troublemaker Raj Kumar, son of Anant Ram, resident of House No 127, Lane No 9, Keran Gurah, Bantalab, Jammu,” a Police spokesperson said.
The accused, according to spokesperson, was found repeatedly involved in activities prejudicial to the maintenance of public order and multiple FIRs were registered against him for such offences.
“The PSA warrant was executed by PSI Puneet Sharma of Police Station Nagrota, under the close supervision of SHO Nagrota and SDPO Nagrota and overall supervision of SP Rural Jammu. The support and coordination extended by the district administration in this regard have been exemplary. The detenue was lodged in district jail Poonch,” the spokesperson said.
During the current year, 5 PSA warrants, according to the spokesperson, have already been executed against bovine smugglers in sub-division Nagrota, reflecting the commitment of Jammu Police towards maintaining peace and public order in the area. “This is the sixth PSA detention in sub-division Nagrota this year,” the spokesperson said.
