Man accused of rifle snatching in Doda arrested

Bhaderwah, June 19: A man accused of rifle snatching in Doda has been arrested.

Mohammad Rafi, who snatched the rifle (AK- 47) of an SPO from Doda yesterday was arrested today from Masri forest by joint team of police and army.

Mohammad Rafi, a resident of Village Trown according to reports gave lift to an SPO Sadar Hussain from Bhela area. But when they reached Pul Doda and later went to answer nature's call, Rafi fled from the spot while taking AK47 rifle with him.

Police along with army immediately started search operations in Trown, Bhalla and Pranu forest area. Although the car was recovered from Jagota village of Bhalla but the accused remained at large.

Today after 23 hours, joint team of Police and Army managed to arrest from Masri Forest area.

SSP Doda Javid Iqbal who was supervising the operation said that the investigation is on.
