Maldivian foreign minister Dr Abdulla Khaleel visiting India

New Delhi, May 25: Dr. Abdulla Khaleel, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Maldives, will embark on a three-day official visit to India from May 25 to 27, 2025, marking his third visit this year as part of ongoing high-level diplomatic engagement between the two countries. The visit highlights the growing momentum in India-Maldives bilateral relations, particularly in the domains of economic cooperation and maritime security, and comes in the backdrop of intensified political exchanges following the State visit of Maldivian President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu to India in October 2024.

During his visit, Dr. Khaleel will lead the Maldivian delegation at the 2nd India-Maldives High-Level Core Group (HLCG) meeting on May 26, 2025.

The talks will focus on reviewing the implementation of the India-Maldives Vision Document on Comprehensive Economic and Maritime Security Partnership, a strategic framework agreed upon by the leadership of both nations to deepen collaboration across trade, infrastructure, and regional maritime cooperation.
