Maldives President Muizzu to attend PM Modi's oath ceremony
New Delhi, June 08: Maldives President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has accepted the invitation from Prime Minister Narendra Modi to attend his oath-taking ceremony for his third consecutive term in office.
President Muizzu is scheduled to arrive in Delhi this evening, accompanied by several senior government officials. This visit marks President Muizzu's first official trip to India since assuming office on November 17 last year.
Prime Minister Modi is set to take the oath on Sunday, June 9, at 7:15 pm. The swearing-in ceremony is expected to be attended by leaders from neighbouring countries, including Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, Mauritius, and Seychelles, among others.
In a message on X, the Ministry of External Affairs stated, "India’s Neighbourhood First & SAGAR vision in action! The swearing-in ceremony of the Prime Minister & Council of Ministers is scheduled for tomorrow. Know the esteemed guests from India’s neighbourhood and the Indian Ocean region participating in the event," accompanied by a short video clip featuring all the leaders.
