Malabar expands hunger free world initiative

Srinagar, Nov 13: Malabar Gold & Diamonds, the world’s fifth-largest jewellery retailer, has expanded its flagship Hunger Free World initiative to Ethiopia, marking a new phase of global outreach for one of India’s most recognised CSR programmes. The initiative, already operational in India and Zambia, aims to tackle hunger and support education through sustained community investment.

As per the company, Hunger Free World reflects “India’s ethos of compassion and collective progress,” and showcases how an Indian CSR model can scale internationally.

Malabar invests 5 percent of its net profits in social responsibility—more than double India’s mandated CSR requirement—enabling the programme’s growth into a global movement against hunger and educational inequity.
