The Lakes Conservation and Management Authority (LCMA) to undertake sustained conservation of Khushalsar and Gilsar lakes.

In a statement issued here, NLCO chairmanship Manzoor Wangnoo extended appreciation for LCMA for its drive during Sewa Parv 2025 initiative, which witnessed significant cleaning operations at Khushalsar.

“The clean-up drive has not only brought visible improvement but also rekindled hope for the revival of this ecologically important water body. NLCO strongly believes that such interventions must now be sustained in a systematic and proportionate manner. NLCO urges that the restoration process be immediately extended to Gilsar Lake at the earliest, as both Khushalsar and Gilsar are interconnected water systems,” he said.

“We suggest that the machine presently lying in Khushalsar needs to be shifted in Gilsar as a dedicated, sequential, and scientific approach beginning from Gilsar is vital to ensure lasting results and ecological balance,” Wangnoo said.
