Major General K Mohan Nair takes over as GOC Vajr Division

Kupwara, July 26: Major General K Mohan Nair Friday took over as General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the strategic and prestigious Kupwara-based Vajr Division from Major General Girish Kalia.

Major General Kalia had taken the charge of Vajr Division in February last year which guards over 300 km of the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir’s Kupwara and Bandipora districts.

“Maj Gen K Mohan Nair, YSM, SM took over as General Officer Commanding of the strategic and prestigious Vajr Division from Maj Gen Girish Kalia, AVSM, VSM. On assuming Command, he paid homage to the #Bravehearts and exhorted all ranks to continue soldiering with commitment and dedication,” Army’s Chinar Corps posted on X.

Major General Nair has a vast working experience in Kashmir.

He has previously served as Brigadier 268 Brigade which looks after Keran Sector and other areas in north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
