'Maiden Jammu BSF marathon-2025 on Nov 9'
Jammu, Oct 10: The first edition of the Jammu BSF Marathon 2025, a flagship event of Frontier Headquarters BSF Jammu, will be held on November 9, 2025.
The marathon will feature four race categories – 42 Km, 21 Km, 10 Km and 5 Km – commencing and concluding at the BSF Campus, Paloura, Jammu.
This was revealed by the Inspector General, Border Security Force (BSF), Jammu frontier Shashank Anand in a curtain raiser press conference at Paloura camp on Friday, October 10, 2025.
Addressing the media, the IG BSF stated, “The Jammu BSF marathon is more than just a sporting event – it is a celebration of fitness, unity, and national spirit.”
“The event aims to promote physical fitness and mental toughness, strengthen the bond between border communities and the mainland, and advance the Government of India’s Fit India and Khelo India initiatives, particularly in the bordering areas of Jammu. It also seeks to encourage youth participation in sports and inspire a healthy, disciplined lifestyle,” he said.
The marathon is expected to attract participants from the border areas of Jammu, neighbouring states, and across the nation. It provides a unique opportunity for citizens to engage with BSF personnel and witness their dedication and commitment to safeguarding the nation’s frontiers.
During the press conference, the official logo of the Jammu BSF Marathon 2025 was unveiled.
“The event is expected to witness enthusiastic participation from schools, colleges, institutions, and professional runners. In the run-up to the main event, several promo runs are being organized across Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Rajouri, and Poonch to spread awareness and enthusiasm,” IG BSF Anand said.

Registration is free, and all participants will receive T-shirts and finisher medals. Winners will be awarded cash prizes i.e., for 42 Km- Rs 1,50,000; for 21 km - Rs 75,000 and for 10 km - Rs 50,000,” he said.
“The Jammu BSF Marathon (JBM) warmly welcomes all citizens to join this celebration of fitness, courage, and national pride, reaffirming BSF’s commitment to unity, security, and national well-being,” IG Anand said.
