Maha Shivratri Festival: SSP orders tightened security in Reasi
Ramban, Feb 6: Ahead of the three-day Shivratri Mela at the Shri Shiv Khori shrine, Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi Paramvir Singh reviewed security arrangements and directed police and paramilitary forces to maintain heightened vigilance to ensure the safe conduct of the festival.
Senior police officers, SHOs of Pouni and Ransoo, and Company Commanders of CRPF 72 and 126 Battalions attended the meeting. DySP SOG Pouni briefed the SSP on manpower deployment in Pouni, Ransoo, and along the yatra route, which has been strengthened in view of the expected rush of pilgrims.
The SSP directed police, CRPF, and civil administration to maintain heightened vigil, strengthen patrolling, conduct surprise nakas, monitor CCTV footage, and ensure effective crowd management. Verification of migrants, workers, pony porters and random checks of hotels and lodges were also ordered.
Reiterating zero tolerance towards anti-national and anti-social elements, SSP Reasi emphasised close coordination among all agencies to ensure the safety and security of pilgrims during the Shivratri Mela.
